YFC Champions 2017
“When I was younger, I told my mom that I hoped she would die. 3 hours later, she did. I’ve regretted it ever since.”
Did that shock you? I know that it shocked me. That was just one story among others read and among millions lived by kids in the U.S. Besides being a photographer and a videographer, one of my greatest passions is education. I love not only being in the classroom and teaching, but I love getting to be a part of each students story.
Youth for Christ is an organization that seeks to reach all students and specifically those that society has written off. Their ministry reaches from prisons to schools across the nation. One of their mottos reads "give life to your story" and that is exactly what they do. They give life to so many young adults in our nation and this is why I love being able to share with them in this event.
The Youth for Christ Champions Tournament is so much more than a celebration and an outing playing golf. It is a chance for the organization to share with their donors about their vision and goals for YFC. It is also a chance for these donors to see what the organization has done.
So many times throughout this event, I found fighting back tears because Youth for Christ is about what I am about and that is reaching youth and being a part of their story. I am sure we can all identify one person who turned our lives around for us. Someone who guided us through the uncertain times in life. That is what YFC strives to be, a lighthouse for youth who need it. They are about changing these students story and introducing them to the love and support they need. What's more, they not only seek to impact students in the present, but also eternally by introducing them to the love of Jesus Christ.
